Quitting and Sleep Loss

One of the biggest problems faced by smokers who quit smoking is disturbed sleeping patterns. It is very much possible that a smoker when quits smoking may not be able to get sound sleep, it may involve waking up after every hour of sleep. This all can definitely result in tiredness and anxiety. There is nothing to worry about. Over a period of time, one starts enjoying a sound sleep in normal pattern. Things which one can do to overcome loss of sleep due to quitting smoking are mentioned below:

  1. One can opt for taking a warm bath before going off to sleep. A warm bath can help your nerves and muscles to relax and hence can help you get a good sleep.
  2. Avoid taking coffee in order to relax yourself. It can become another addiction for you. Instead of this one can try herbal tea as it is beneficial for health and also helps in relaxation.
  3. One can also opt for body massage for few initial days of quitting smoking. This also helps in a lot of body and mind relaxation.
  4. Meditation can also help a person suffering from insomnia. This can help a person to get a healthy sleep.
