Is it possible to quit smoking by having multi vitamins?

A lot of smokers want to quit but do not know exactly how to go about. For those who have been trying to quit smoking after years of doing it, it can be quite difficult and very tempting to go back to their old habits again. Vitamins have proven to be very effective in curbing cravings for cigarettes and other tobacco products. Here is a quick overview of the various vitamins which are the components of various multi vitamins meant for aiding quitting smoking:

  • Vitamin A is an antioxidant and neutralizes the oxidizing effects which result from smoking. Green leafy vegetables, carrots and yellow fruits are rich sources of this vitamin.
  • Vitamin B: There are various vitamins which fall under this category and are usually called the B-complex. They are also available as supplements with the same name.
  • Vitamin C, as discussed above, is very helpful in quitting smoking and is found in abundance in citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, limes and gooseberries.
  • Vitamin E also has antioxidant properties and helps smokers in physiological ways to quit smoking. It is found in sweet potatoes and sunflower seeds.

All these vitamins are included in multivitamin tablets used for quitting smoking.
