Antioxidant to leave the habit of smoking

Antioxidants play a major role while one is trying to quit smoking. Smoking has very adverse effects on the body, with its oxidizing effects being one of them. Antioxidants help neutralize these effects and help smokers quit smoking by reducing the cravings of the body for nicotine. Also, they block the effects of a type of compounds called nitrosamines which are present in tobacco, and therefore in cigarettes too. Nitrosamines are the chief culprit in the incidence of cancer among smokers. Not only this, antioxidants are also known to flush out all the toxic chemicals and substances that are inhaled along with smoke out of the body. Antioxidants are very easily available in the form of Vitamins like Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Vitamin A id found in a variety of foods and especially found in abundance in citrus fruits like lemons, limes, oranges and gooseberries. Besides these Vitamin C is also found in green tea, broccoli, red wine, nuts, and fish and green leafy vegetables. Vitamin A is also found in a variety of foods. You can also take antioxidants in the form of nutritional supplements like Vitamin C supplements, B-complex tablets, multivitamin tablets, sprays, chewable gums, solutions.
